Fly-foot is the Middle East’s leading football travel experience creator. They will fly you to watch your favourite team at the stadium. With a desire to connect passionate football fans with the games they love and the teams they so loyally support with only 9 clicks.
Fly-Foot was one of our long standing clients, having started with a simple booking website designed on Photoshop. (Imagine that, I've been doing UX/UI design that long).
I collaborated with clients to drive user research, identifying pain points, insights, and opportunities for further exploration. Leading the UX and UI design alongside the design team, I worked closely my PM to map out the product roadmap, define strategic positions, and scope and schedule features. I worked closely with our branding team to ensure the creation of a cohesive look and feel.
"Users lack a way to easily book a trip to see their favourite team play without the stress of organising each step "
The Fly-Foot website needed some love and attention, an updated experience that aligns with the insights gathered from understanding fans' needs and the internal requirements of the Fly-Foot support teams.
Meeting the client's vision of integrating both the ease of booking pre-packaged trips and the flexibility of customizing trips—all under a single search bar. It felt similar to packing for a holiday, with everything neatly laid out on your bed and you have to figure out how to get it into your very small cabin bag. To tackle this, I broke down the requirements into needs and functionalities, dedicating time to sketching out ideas and rigorously testing them with users to find the best solution. Oh, and it was also in Arabic, so we had to do everything backwards too.
This update was partnered with a re-brand, so with the help of the brand team (I mean, the graphic designer at Kolaps) we were able to create a look and feel that could be applied to the end-to-end booking experience that I had carefully drafted using wireframes and user flows.
Unless you're travelling with your dad, it's always a nightmare keeping track of all your tickets, documents and booking references. Fly-Foot wanted to elevate the product further and solve this problem by introducing a comprehensive travel companion, in the form of an app.
This app consolidates all essential trip information, including full itineraries, schedules, tickets, weather updates, local insights, and even a chat feature for connecting with other football fans or accessing on-spot assistance. By integrating these features, the app enhances the Fly-foot experience, allowing users to relax and enjoy their journey with the confidence that they are in good hands.
Fly-foots shiny new booking platform increased their sales by 20%, and the on-spot service kept their customers happy. Fly-Foot customers continue to be loyal to their service and they say that there's nothing quite like it.
Through this experience, I learned the importance of balancing user needs with technical constraints and aesthetics when integrating complicated functionalities into a single space, without letting my head spin too much. I learned the value of flexibility and creativity in problem-solving, ensuring that both user experience and client vision are met in the final product.
“With a vastly upgraded website and user experience that Cat spearheaded we've been able to consolidate growth we've made over the past 5 years. ”
